George Howard of George Howard Racing announced today that he has completed the sale of New Bama Dragway in Sumiton, West of Birmingham. Howard said that, as of October 1, the track will be owned by Bernie and Anne Longjohn of Los Angeles, California. Howard had owned the facility since 1998.
Bernie Longjohn was the owner/operator of the legendary LACR Dragway in California for 27 years until its recent closing. "We are very excited to have someone of this caliber take over New Bama Dragway," said Howard. "Bernie and Anne are very excited and motivated and promise to bring some fresh and exciting ideas to New Bama Dragway...we wish them all great things and success," Howard added.
