I got a chacne last week to drive a Mustang with the new Hurst shifter. Let me tell you guys, it was the best shifter I've used in ANY S197!

Just installed the hurst competition shifter kit last night in my 07' GT. Was a very easy & clean installation, but resulted in very, very, stiff shifting. While I assumed some stiffness would be normal, I think it is excessive. Any suggestions / comments? Thanks.

any new shifter is gonna need some time to loosen up a bit. The car we tested had a couple of thousand miles on it with the shifter installed. It didn't seem stiff at all.
The best suggestion I could give you is to drive it and put some time/wear on the shifter assembly to loosen it up a bit. Say, about 500 - 1000 miles. If it still seems overly stiff after that, give Hurst/B&M a call and see what they say. Maybe there's an adjustment you need to make to loosen things up a bit?
