NEED HELP WITH MY NEW MOTOR, I SHOULD SAY OLD NEW MOTOR IT'S BEEN SETTING IN MY GARAGE FOR 4 YRS . IT IS A DSS PRO BULLET 306 BALANCED AND BLUEPRINTED LOW COMP MOTOR ,185 AFR HEADS ,DSS ROKERS ,STUD MAIN GIRDLE,WINDAGE TRAY,ORINGED BLOCK. I'AM GOING TO FINISH MY CAR AND I'AM READY TO DROP IN THE MOTOR . MY QUESTION IS WHAT SOULD I DO BEFORE I START UP THIS MOTOR THE VALVE COVERS ARE OFF AT THIS TIME AND THE MOTOR HAS BEEN COVERED UP . IT WILL BE SUPERCHARGED WITH A NOVI 2000 AROUND 15-18 LBS OF BOOST , ANY ADVICE WOULD BE HELPFUL, THANKS..

You need to prime the motor thoroughly before trying to start it, just like you would if you'd just built it. Get an oil pump primer and treat the motor to several minutes of full lubrication. About every minute or so, you should turn the motor by hand ot make sure all the bearing surfaces get a good coat of oil, and the ca lobes and lifters.

I read somewhere that i can take the plugs out and squirt some oil through there, is this true?
