What would you do? A good condition (not mint) '93 Cobra was sitting in your driveway. Woudl you leave it alone, or start building a 347 for it?  

If it were up to me, leave it stock. It's one of those special cars that everyone respects. I'd put my money into the body and/or interior if it needs it, but that's about it..... then again, this is my opinion as a Canadian, where 93 Cobras are VERY few and far between.

If someone's already torn into the car and you bought it after it was modded though, then whatever. Go to town.  

I personly would not leave it stock.  Im building a 93 cobra, I recently perchased a rolling chassis and im going to treat it to a complete 99-02 cobra conversion,drive train interior the works. after install a cobra four valve in the fox cobra as far as im concerned it will be more cobra that when it rolled off the show room floor so heck yea soup that snake.  

I'm torn on the subject, when I see a terminator dragging with a live axle I get a little PO'd! That car has, in my eyes, been a IRS car for corners and street duty stompin' imports and blowties. I feel that a terminator left stock in the powertrain is kind of a waste of potential.
As far as the Fox Cobra If I owned one it would be a bone stocker weekend car. Now same car a little rough maybe a ton of miles I'd pull the drivetrain set it aside for the restore. Then build the street gear and make it appear stock.  

Leave it stock or you will be spending money untill the day you get rid of it for a new toy.Just my opinion.

If it was an R, I'd say leave it alone, but since it's not, and it's only in "good condition," why not have fun and build a mean Fox Rod out of it?

i'm looking for another one i look for close to stock.

I think no matter the Cobra's condition I would build a 347, or something stronger than stock, but keep the stock engine and tranny in the corner of the garage for safe-keeping and to maintain originality. If the car was already hacked-up, or bought as a roller, I would probably be more willing to turn it loose, and go crazy. However, even so, it would be a clean installation to maintain the Cobra's aura.  

Bolt ons only would be your best bet. Keep the oem parts in storage. Keep it simple & suttle. Try to keep the stock look but with the bolt ons you can make decent power.  

Yes this car is rare but dont let it go to waste. You could beef it up and when you get sick of the speed gutt it and restore it. I have a 93 Cobra that is respected more because they cant have it and they cant catch it. Im pushing a 530rwhp and still driving on the street like an everyday driver.No matter what these sleepers are keepers dont let it go and dont crack it up! There are to many already made into metal boxes.  

well my friend i'm in the same boat... i'm the proud owner of Red #1815, teal #3541, and my recent addition is a 1994 white lightning #2995. Red one has the stock mill pulled and is sitting on a stand, DSS is delivering me a 331 stroker motor in a little bit and Vortech dropped off a SQ trim for me last year. the teal one is completely stock aside from exhaust and a cold air kit.. same goes for the lightning, but that is stock all around.. so i feel your pain.. but do it tastefully and do it so it can go back to stock.. i refuse to cut anything in either cobra..  pics will soon be sent in for readers rides..

My uncle has a SAAC mustang conv. the first one. It now has a 347 stroker/ novi 2000 and full bear set up.
My cousin has a 93 cobra that had a 347 stroker and a UPR set up.
I have a 93 police inter
interceptor with a 331 and full Maximum Motor sports set up.  

you should either mod it or sell it to me! (and I'll mod it)
