hello, i am new to the forum but have always loved the fox bodies.  i was wondering if anyone out there has successfully swapped their auto tranny for a 5 speed.  if so, what all will i need to switch my automatic out?  i just want to make sure i have EVERYTHING before getting in over my head in this project.  thanks in advance for any help.

when i replaced my auto with a t-5 i went to a local junk yard and got the pedal assembly out of a manual car. you have to drop your steering column and switch the single brake with the brake pedal and clutch pedal assembly. i also had to get a driveshaft for the manual transmission, and the flex plate or flywheel which ever you want to call it. when i bought the manual transmission i also had to get the clutch plate and a clutch cable to go with it. most of the time when you buy a transmission it doesnt come with the bell housing, so youll probably have to get one of them too. you will have to get a different speedometer gear for the manual as well and the speed sensor. i think i paid $30 at autozone. i had a problem with hooking the reverse lights up. i havent got to hooking that up yet though. im pretty sure that is all that i had to get to switch mine over. hope this helps
