My 94 GT makes a loud noise while turning in either direction. This noise is happening while the car is parked or driving. The fluid in the pump is at normal level and the belt is ok. I had the tie rods replaced a couple of years back...could it be the rack and pinion making the noise? Please help.

Check the front lower control arms where they mount to the k-member. I recently had a squeaking noise from that area, and we traced it to the front lower control arms. Liberal application of a little white lithium grease took care of the noise temporarily. To see if that's it, roll the front of your GT up onto a couple 2x4s. Then have someone bounce the car up and down, and listen for the noise. If it's making the noise, apply some white lithium grease to the attaching bolts. The grease should quiet the noise. Good luck.

I myself having a similar noise has only become worse..its actually very annoying...but further investigation to such I have come to find out its the bushings for my left Tie Rod...basically leaving end result for a true fix..
Replace Tie Rod
Alignment
so though ya had the tie rods replaced...my Mech shared that its jus somethign that Fords seem to have problems with an them bushings being they dont have greaserts, wear down an dry rot much Quicker...so you may wish to check into that as well...granted that would suck if they are failing for you that fast
