Hey I'm new to the board. Just purchased my first mustang a 1990 GT. Car is completly stack and runs great but when you take off it has a hesitation and then it runs strong after. Doesn't bog down or anything just doesn't take off like it should (wont even turn the tires). Does this sound like it may be a computer problem? Thanks

Is the car an automatic or manual? I would think the car's an auto, but just want to make sure. How many miles? What kind of maintenance schedule has the car been subjected to?

Yes, it is an automatic. It has about 146,000 miles on it totally stock. I'm not sure about the mailttenance like i said I just bought it. Here is all I know about the car guy stated he bought the car and it had been sitting up for at least 6-7 years. He said he cleaned gas tank changed fuel pump and changed the oil. he changed the fan clutch because car was getting hot. I replaced the radiator since I had it. Sorry I have limited information.

This car might be strapped with a 2.73 gear as well, which is not doing you any favors as far as performance. As soon as funs permit, I would throw a gear in that car. I wouldn't put anything less than a 3.73 in the car.

Got under the car checked the rear end out and here is the code  S215A    220027  273. I'm thinking this means 273 gear but what does the rest mean? thank you

The 215A designation tells us it's a 2.73 gear with a Traction-Lok differential. Not sure what the 220027 number is, though. You can find used gears in excellent shape if you shop wisely. Like I said, with an automatic, I wouldn't do anything less than a 3.73 gear.
