Ok here is my problem that I am having. My 87 5.0 will not stay on when it is started. It will start but just putters out you can pump the gas but it runs ruff. Then when you let it ideal it stops. I replaced the fuel filter. Checked the fuel line and it is not clogged. When you push on the gas it sputters out. Can someone help?

Have you checked your fuel pressure regulator?

Is your car fuel injection or carb.? Either way; Spray some "Berrymans B-12" or Started fluid into the TB or Carb. Don't be shy with the amount either. Right away try to start the car. If it runs for a few seconds then dies, then it probably is your fuel pump.
