I have a 97 GT, I have had no luck finding the rear-end specs on it. I have a SCT X-2, and I need to know what stock gears I have in order to use it correctly. Thanks

I would go to http://www.drivetrain.com/parts_catalog/ring_and_pinions/what_rear_end_ratio_do_i_have_in_my_ford__is_it_posi.html
They have a complete listing of how to find your ratio. As long as it is still stock.
or if your rearend still has the metal id tag attached to one of the rearend bolts then you can go to http://www.fordification.com/rearends-ford01.htm at the bottom of that page you can select the ID number and go straight to it. otherwise you have to go through 17 pages of IDS. again this only works if stock gears.
Another way of telling is to jack up one side of vehicle. Then mark your driveshaft with paint or something you can see. Then while counting the turns of the driveshaft, rotate the tire until the tire makes one full turn. Example if for one turn of the tire the driveshaft turns 3 3/4 turns then you have 3.73. if just over 4 turns you have 4.10. 3 1/2 turns you have 3.55 etc. This way will get you closest without taking the rearend apart and physically counting.
