I'm doing a 351 swap in my '94 GT. While I'm there I'm considering pulling the P/S gear and swapping to manual. Is anyone running manual know? I do track days 2-3 times a month but this is also my daily driver. I'm running '03 cobras with 275/40's up front.

Funny that you posted this now. I'm cleaning up the engine compartment in my '93 LX and I decided to dump the factory P/S system, but I too will be using the car for track days... so I'm not removing P/S altogether. I read an article about Maximum Motorports' shop car and in it they said they dumped the factory system and converted to manual to get better feedback through the steering, but then when the car got out of shape, it was harder to recover. They put power steering back on the car, but with an aftermarket unit. They now market the system as Maximum Motorports part number ST-70. (ST-72 for an SN95 like yours)
I WILL be putting their kit on my '93 LX soon. The kit looks great, provides better steering feedback than the factory setup, but gives some assist which should help maintain "toss-ability" with the 275s up front.
