Clutch cable burn in half

Yes thats right?. My car 90 mustang longtube headers.... Has just burned a brand new clutch cable in half?.. i couldnt figure out?. Why i had to keep adjusting it at the fire wall?. until it snapped?. When i took it off?. It was burned in to two pieces right wear it goes into the, tranny?. Which is close to my headers?. I also have energy suspension motor mounts?. Which has moved my motor up and back?. Actually more room btwn headers and car?.. clutch etc?. But i can feel the brand new one i put on?. going in the same direction?..
How do i fix it>

If it's close to the headers down low, you'll have to somehow tie-wrap the new cable to something to keep it away from the headers.
