Spongy clutch

I noticed yesterday when driving my 1990 5.0 in town that the more I drive it and shift it in town the more spongy for lack of a better word the clutch feels. Already I find that the clutch doesn't feel right. Is there any way to adjust it or a better aftermarket clutch cable to use? The clutch has to be pressed all the way to the floor for easy shifting.

Are these some options?

Firewall Adjuster?

Heavy Duty Adjustable Clutch Cable

well, first of all, UPRs stuff is awesome. That's what I run in all of my mustangs. But that said, it could be a cable that's getting ready to die, a factory quadrant that's worn out, or even a worn out pressure plate. If you buy the UPR quadrant, cable, and firewall adjuster and it still feels weird, it could be the pressure plate.

HMM well supposedly the transmission was recently rebuilt so I will try the adjustable cable and firewall adjuster first. Thanks for the advice...

I had the plastic quandrant replaced on my 1986 Turbo T'bird, and it'd slip on hills...so i put the top of my foot behind the pedal, pulled up towards the dashboard, heard a CLICK, and did the adjustment they did not.

It may not help...but it sure won't cost anything.  Good luck.  For sure, if you replace the quadrant, grab a BBK or other aftermarket metal one.

I replaced the cable, quadrant and installed a firewall adjuster all included in the BBK kit from late model restoration and it totally fixed my problems.. I guess my post wasn't clear I am sorry.
