I need to know what is the best kind of clutch for an 89 5.0. It's my boyfriends car and our anniversary is comming up and his clutch his horrible right now. So i figured i'd get him a new one! I know he's planning on buying a truck and making his 5.0 a project car and he plans on dropping a 347 in it(or possibly something bigger), and then strappin a blower to it. Right now it's pretty much stock, but he's always used a heavy-duty clutch. What kind of clutch would you recomend and where could i get it at? I need to know asap! Thank You!

Don't know how much mods are in the future, but the dual friction centerforce is a good piece. It has a managable pedal effort, and more mechanical clamping force then acerage.

Speaking from the "formerly clueless female" stand point, what every you do, DO NOT purchase the base centerforce clutch, its better than the factory original but definatly not worth the price difference of the OEM. For just a little bit more you can upgrade to the Centerforce II or the centerforce dual friction. My next clutch will be at least a dual friction unless I find something better for the money before I need to tear into that again.

King cobra all the way. great driveablity and 2700lbs of holding force without a lot of pedal effort. (stock oem clutch has 1500lbs)
