Hello, can anyone advise me on putting 17 inch wheels on my 86 gt?
what size should I install and what should I do to get minimal rubbing on the inner fender well and frame rub? Any info would be grateful

I have a 1984 GT and I put 9" cobra rims on the front and back. I have 245/45/17 tires. If I turn lock to lock on the steering it will just rub the control arms. They work well on the rear but I did have the inner fender cut back slight several years ago. My advice is 8" rims all around or at least for the front. I am not sure of the specific offsets for my car. 9" rims on the front are very close to the struts (no pound on weights or they will rub). However I was told that 87 and up have slightly different struts and that does not happen. Hope this helps.
