Well, where should I begin. I just want to say that in my personal opinion I am so disappointed with the new 2005 mustang. After I first saw the conecpt car I was excited and started saving my money so I could get one when they came out. Then, Ford hit us with the actual production model which looks almost like the current body style with a few mods to the front and back. I think the problem for me is that they made the 2005 concept so awesome that anything else was just disappointing. Is anyone else out there as disappointed as me? I was looking for forward to buying one of these 2005's and now I am so unimpressed by the actual production model that I will just be keeping my current 2001 GT. Ford seems to have a habbit of building things up for major letdowns...I have been a mustang owner for most of my life but I'm actually considering hanging up the reigns of my mustang if something doesn't happen.

i think the 2005 are sweet if i wasnt in college i would buy one but for now i have to stick to my notch. i think they look way better than any of the 94-04's and from what it sounds like they perform way better too.

Cool, I can respect that. But, have you looked at the difference between the concept car and then actual production model? There is a huge difference between them and to me the concept is much sleeker and it's around 400 horsepower too. If I knew where I could get one of the concepts I would go out and get it right now...whever it's being auctioned! LOL.

yeah i agree with that the concept was awesome, but how could ford make and still sell it for a gt price the interior in the production model already looks like its from a $60k car. they probably figured it would cost too much to make it that way and in turn it wouldnt sell.

Yeah, I'm sure the major hangup was probably the price to make it. But, I would have paid a little more to get that car! LOL. The actual 2005 production model is not even different enough for me to justify selling my current 2001 to get one of them. I would have bought the concept though. I'd buy it now if I new if there was one for sale in an auction somewhere. I'd be willing to pay 40,000 for that car. It would be worth it.

it would be well worth it but i doubt you could get it for 40 in an auction. im sure some rich person who wouldnt appreciate near as much as me or you would bid some ridiculous amount.

First off, I think the production 2005 Mustangs look more like the concept than any other concept to production model Mustang to date. Personally, I believe the 2005s are a great update from the '04s. Did you have a chance to look closely at the concept cars? I was at a showing at one of the car shows where they were showing the concept convertible. We had a chance to get in and take an up close look. The interior was nothing compared to what's coming in production. (I know it was only supposed to look good for the concept. The gauges were all fake, and the odometer was a sticker)  The back end looked strikingly like a Corvette. The production '05s look much better in person than in pictures. I think the only thing the production lost from the concept is the hood scoops. But, with a different hood, and a new set of rims, the 05s will definately look 'Mustang'.

Oh yeah, don't expect to get your hands on the concept anytime soon. According to the guy I talked to from Ford, there's a million dollar insurance policy on it, and after they're done showing it, it has to be shelved at Ford, or shredded. It can't be sold. Sad, isn't it??? Overall, they were good looking cars!

OK first of all i dont know what some of you guys are smoking but the concept is almost identical to the production. The cars body lines are practically the same besides the hood scoop. and its soposed to look some what like the 99-04s thats was the purpose of it to mix that design with the original design and they def accoplished that. All you have to do with the production model to make it look like the concept is siply put some 20s on it and a hood scoop. I love the 05 and i cant wait to get my hands on one.

I'm incredibly PISSED OFF!  The mag is obviously paid well to suck up to ford on their review in the last issue.  I was biting my nails waiting for what they have said was going to be the new model, just to find out it's basically a current model with a retro front end, and that's it.  Ok, new handling and longer wheel base, things not needed. New motor, COOL.  Lighter moteor_ heavier car?  What the FUG?!?!  If what was shown in their last issue is the final design for the interior after what they showed before,  it looks like ####, not at all like the "$30,000 interior in a $20,000 car"  that ford boasts.  No hatchback like we were shown?  No nothing like we were shown, it looks like crap.  I've been bragg'n about how I was getting one as soon as they hit the floor, not now, not ever, I'm going elsewhere.  I don't even think I'll bother renewing my subscription.  Why do they even make concept cars if they aren't going to go with it?  They have blown a major opportunity to win back the sport car market.  I'm going with a Honda or Subaru  I think I'll even dump my 93 GT just out of shame.  Ford...... YOU FRIGG'N SUCK!!!

IT would definately be worth it And I had anticipated it, but it wouldn't cost them a dime more to make than the sardin can they plan to push.  the whole American auto market is a scam.  Interiors are like plastic Taco bell food - all the same ingredients, just shaped a different way.

When I first saw the production model I didn't like it at first sight.   Then I began reading about the new 300hp engine.  The 04 MachI puts out 305HP from the factory and still has a high price tag for a car thats already a year old.   If they keep the GT price around 28k  my name will be on the list for one of those babies rolling off the assembly line this fall.

I just wish they would've left that slight slant on the headlights of the concept car in the production car.
