The prostars look nice if you interested i have those draglites i'd be willing to sell. They have approx. 1 summer on the front tires 205/60/R15 and less than 300 miles on the back 245/60/R15 .  Sounds like a sweet combo on the coupe.  4.30 gears for a stick sound a little low for the first 2 gears but thats just my opinion. I have some pics of the wheels on my car if ur interested all i need is an email address. I ahve the E303 cam and is currently at 18 degrees advanced how much u think i would have to retard it for a 75hp shot of spray? and let me know if u'd like to see the pics

I can't use your Draglites. They're 4 lug the coupe is 5 lug. I'll stay with the bogarts for the cobra. You can post a pic of your Stang though I'd like to see it. I'd also like to see the Roadrunner. As far as timing with nitrous? I think I'd start out at 10 deg then slowly go up. Keep checking the plugs for it getting lean. All of the kits has a recommened tune up with the install directions. Go by that to start. The gears in the coupe are a little low. That's why I'm going to get the TKO proshifted. I've watched Bob Hanlon grab 2nd with the front wheels in the air with one. It was going to be a NMRA Pure Street car. I just can't afford to keep up with those guys. When the motor was built. The rules said you had to run stock crank and rods. Well they changed that. Now they all run light weight everything. I saw a guy selling Pure Street short blocks for 4 grand. Just the short block. Add another grand to get the heads tricked out. The carb would have to be sent out. Who knows how much that would be. Plus a ton of dyno time to get the most out of it. There all running in the mid 10's. If you looked at the rule book for that class you'd be like WTF. So that's why I'm going to put nitrous on it and drive it on the street. Here is an old pic of the Cobra. It really looks the same but now it has a 2 1/2" cowl hood on it. In the pic I was running in an autocross. If you've never been in one before. Trust me you have to try it. It's the most fun I had with my car. The blower was a bit much for it but it just made it that much more fun.

The cobra looks nice. I have one pic of the RR but it is blown up an i am not sure if i can scan it.  I will attatch the stang pics. If i can scan the RR it is an old pic it looks the same but i am like 14 in the pic so you'll reall see a change in me.  I would be pissed if i spent all that money on the motor and then they changed the rules but i am sure you not the only one who spent a lot of money building their motors and were like WTF. you know.  I just built mine for the street an the stick i think will just make it that much better. There was only room for one pic so i will attach one after each rply  i have four and then i'll try to post the road runner. I am still debating on rims though so any opinion will help althought the car looks good dressed in welds.  Cobra R, Y2K cobra R, or saleen?

Randy, Id tend to agree with Blown for a lot of the same reasons.  Theoretically, a well built automatic will be faster shifting from gear to gear by a factor of 2X (.5sec for a good shift).  This varies greatly with the skill of the driver as well.  The mustang clutch is not known as a precision instrument.  In the older fox bodies, the firewall will actually flexx with each press of the pedal.  You also have to contend with the flex in the clutch cable and the horrible little device known as the clutch quadrant (junk!).  What this gives you is a very vague release point for the clutch.  If you cant repeat is all the time, every time, your launch will suffer.  You have to be able to apply the correct pressure to the flywheel every time to ensure the best launch at the best RPM.  Not easy when youve got so much built in slop in the system.

I don't want to discourage you.  I have a 6sp in my cobra and love it to death, but then, Im a road race freak and not a drag racer and the manual allows me to be much more creative in gear selection based on upcomming terrain and obstacles than an auto ever could.  However, I had to do a lot of by-the-seat-of-your-pants-engineering though to get the system to behave!

..........................................................stick with the auto!  Get it professionally prepped and set up if you want, but put the money elsewhere for drag racing!

Thank you for your opinion.  I am not putting the stick in the car strickly for drag race.  I rarely take the car to the track it is a convertible and is veryy heavy.  THe AOD in the car is built with a custom buit stall converter.  I drive the car on the sreet and that is where 50 percent of its life is spent and the other 50 in storage.  I want the stick for the harder pulls (no slippage of the converter) and the fun of driving the stick  I have some cobra R's 17X9 for the front and 17X10.5 for the rear and with that I got a strut tower brace and subframe connecters.  I think the stick will give me much better advantage on the street cornering and if i pull next to so rice burner with his head stuck up his ass.  I plan to lower the car with some steeda sport springs so it will still pull hard and be faster with a stick and like you said fo rthe road race you can grab the best gear and tak a curve or corner how you want it to.  Thats my main reason for the stick to be faster and for the fun.

Thanks Randy
