What things should I check to improve fuel mileage aside from tune-up making sure air filter is clean etc.I have headers, trick flow upper/lower intake,70mm throttle body, K&N filter, flowmaster mufflers and the rest is stock. I am getting around 12-14mpg.

plug in a code reader.. or if you have a OBD1 scan tool that will handle EEC4.... run the KOEO and KOER tests.,... then post your exact model info as year to year the codes change on fords in the 80s and 90s..
post which ecm you are using also...
if the system fails a self test.. it will dial back the power and fuel economy...
only when the system gets a PASS 11. will it run at the most economical and best power..

Put a real tall rear gear in. maybe a 3:08
An over drive transmission.
Remove some cam away, go to a lower lift,
and a shorted duration cam.
